DIY guide: Artificial turf repair using Turftak quik-fix artificial turf repair kit

To help you repair torn synthetic turf strips at home, we have created this handy step-by-step guide using our popular Turftak quik-fix artificial turf repair kit.

Included in the kit:

  • x3 50ml cartridges of Solfre 3008 2-Part Polyurethane Adhesive
  • x3 Mixing nozzles
  • x1 Adapter for use in standard caulking guns
  • x1 Pack of disposable nitrile gloves

Tools required:

  • Scissors, screwdriver, utility knife etc (or seal puncture tool usually attached to caulk gun)
  • 10ox cartridge gun
  • Caulking gun for standard 10-inch cartridges

Instructions

Step (1) After identifying area for repair, ensure seams are free from dirt and debris

Step (2) Clamp adaptor down over the plunger

Step (3) Insert cartridge into the adaptor and load it within the cockpit so the plunger and cartridge line up

Step (4) Remove the cap on the 50ml cartridge and insert the static mixer, prime until a small amount of glue is released

Step (5) Using new turftak heavy duty artificial turf tape or the existing tape, align the turf and apply the glue in a zig-zag motion across the turf seaming tape (each 50ml cartridge will cover roughly 1 sq. ft)

Step (6) Try to avoid application of glue to unintended areas such as skin or clothing, if applied to unwanted areas, remove the adhesive quickly

Step (7) Apply pressure and allow the adhesive to cure for roughly an hour
